My name is Dr. Jason Senecal. Welcome to our website, I hope you find it educational as well as helpful. Here is a little information about myself:
Time in Practice:
I have been a licensed Chiropractor in the state of Minnesota since 1999. After graduating from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1998, I practiced at Wildenauer Chiropractic Clinic in West St. Paul as an associate doctor. In February of 2001, I opened Cedar South Chiropractic here in Apple Valley.
Philosophy on Health:
My philosophy on health is based around two basic ideas.
1. 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'. All too often people wait until a serious health issue arises before they begin to take their health seriously. Just as regular, preventative dental care keeps your teeth healthy, regular preventative chiropractic care keeps your spine healthy.
2. I strongly believe that it is better to first find and then correct the cause of a patient's condition rather than simply treat the symptoms. Of course there is a time and place for medication, however, chiropractic care can often reduce the need for prescription medications. In 17 years of practice, I have yet to see a musculoskeletal pain that was caused by a lack of Ibuprofen in the the body! So why treat the problem that way?
We see a wide variety of patients at CSC. Parents bring in their newborn babies and children when they are colicky, when they have ear infections or simply for regular spinal check-ups. Just watch a child play for 15 minutes and you'll see why they need regular adjustments.
We see a lot of athletes. These patients understand the direct link between a properly aligned body and their athletic performance. They also understand that chiropractic care facilitates and speeds up the recovery from injury.
We treat many people with chronic, long-term conditions (Arthritis, Degeneration).
We offer a unique treatment for those patients with disc herniations in their lumbar spine. This treatment is called Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.
And, of course, we have our Wellness patients. These patients have no symptoms at all! They come in for periodic treatments so that they can remain symptom free.
I believe that conservative chiropractic care is the best place to start when addressing a musculoskeletal complaint. However, there are times when a patient needs medical intervention. That is why I have developed relationships with local medical doctors and work closely with Noran Neurological Clinic, Orthopedic Consultants and The Center for Diagnostic Imaging. If your condition requires a medical referral, you can be confident you will be sent to the very best.
I am originally from Alberta, Canada. I moved here in 1995 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Calgary to attend Northwestern College of Chiropractic.
My wife and I have lived in Apple Valley with our 3 children for the past 16 years. We are a hockey family, my son and daughter play on Eastview teams. If you are a hockey family in Minnesota, there is little time for anything else in the winter. In the summer we like to get out to the lake, relax and enjoy all that this state has to offer.
Thank you for considering Cedar South Chiropractic for your healthcare needs. I look forward to meeting you.
Dr. Jason Senecal
Hello, my name is Dr. Troy Taffe. I have been a licensed Chiropractor in the state of Minnesota since 2008. After graduating from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in March of 2008, I worked as an associate doctor in Lakeville and in St. Paul before joining Cedar South Chiropractic in Apple Valley in 2013. I enjoy treating patients of all ages and backgrounds, from newborn babies, high school athletes, senior citizens and everybody in between. I have gone through advanced training to receive my certifications from the Titleist Performance Institute and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment. This allows me to more effectively treat athletes for sports injuries, and help them return to their sport they love and enjoy it pain free. The TPI assessment screens golfers for body mechanics dysfunctions that may be affecting their swing pattern.
I love seeing the everyday miracles that occur as patients' health improves naturally through Chiropractic care.
I am originally from Plymouth, MN, where I attended Wayzata High School. I participated in hockey, football, and baseball growing up. I first started receiving chiropractic care due to sports-related injuries. It worked so well for me that I wanted to pursue chiropractic as a career. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry, I attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in March of 2008. I currently live in Farmington, MN with my wife Sarah, sons Sam and Jake. I enjoy staying active with sports, playing softball, golfing and spending time outdoors with my family.
I look forward to helping you and your family reach their healthcare goals here at Cedar South Chiropractic.
Troy Taffe, D.C.
